BCP Impact Report 2023-24

  • We supported 900 people over the past 12 months, 200 of whom for the first time.
    • 85% were male, 15% female.
    • 12% were under 25
    • 47% aged 25-44
    • 36% aged 45-65
    • and 5% were 65+
    • 35% were disabled under the Equality Act 2010.
  • We served 8,247 meals, 5,787 showers, 1,827 loads of laundry, and distributed 2,051 clothing, phones and SIM cards.
  • Outreach Nurse supported 26 people
    • 33 Podiatry appointments
    • 41 Oral Hygiene Checks
    • 65 referrals to GP/Dentist
    • 78 Haircuts
    • 61 eye tests and free glasses
  • 72 guests had outreach mental health appointments
    • 21 received sexual health advice
    • and 8 bowel screening advice.
  • The Project Workers delivered 965 1-1 advice sessions to 470 individuals.
    • They supported 180 rough sleepers into accommodation (75% private rented, 10% supported housing, 15% hostels: outreach/St Mungo’s).
    • They arranged 220 benefit support appointments
    • and 30 referrals for immigration support/Legal Aid.
  • 70 people received employment support
    • with 25 successfully gaining employment (some as self-employed delivery drivers).
    • They made 10 ESOL referrals.
  • Project Workers organised group outings to BBC Earth Experience, Cinema, Thames Cruise, Kew Gardens, Chelsea FC Match, Stadium Tour & Christmas Dinner, Theatre, Football, Mini-Golf, Ping Pong, Tennis and Laser Tag.
  • 300 Asylum seekers were supported with clothing and other items in partnership with the Council’s Asylum-Seeker team.
  • 83% guests reported an improvement in physical wellbeing
  • and 87% improvement in emotional wellbeing
